ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to survey on some results concerning polynomial identities of quadratic algebras. We give results about 2x2 matrices, Jordan algebras of degree 2, Cayley-Dickson algebras and for the class of all quadratic algebras. We communicate some new results about generalized quadratic rings, i.e., rings verifying some polynomial identities of degree ≤ 5 which are satisfied by all symmetric quadratic algebras.
