ABSTRACT
The immune system of the gastrointestinal tract has been considered briefly in Chapter 1. In recent years, extensive immunological and molecular studies have enabled considerable advances in our understanding of immune parameters within the normal canine and feline intestine and have defined alterations in these parameters that characterize immune-mediated alimentary diseases.
