Immunopathogenesis IMHA is the most common cause of haemolytic anaemia in the dog. Initiating factors for canine secondary IMHA include: • Infectious disease, particularly the range of

arthropod-borne infections described in Chapter 3 (babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, leishmaniosis, rickettsiosis). Mycoplasma haemocanis does not appear to trigger canine IMHA.
