ABSTRACT

Electricity is essential to the operations of a modern automated office as a source of power, but electricity is hazardous and can cause serious shock or burn injuries if improperly used or it is not maintained in a safe condition. For electricity to work, it has to flow in a loop between its source and the equipment it powers. Electrical equipment used in an office is potentially hazardous and can cause serious shocks, arc burns, or explosions. For a worker to become part of this loop an electrical hazard has to occur in which a part of the worker’s body becomes part of the loop (circuit) and electricity flows directly through the workers body, which can cause injury or even death.
