This chapter is going to show you how to formulate the long-term strategic plan that is going to help you build a successful practice. Perhaps a more apposite term might be ‘stratagem’, that is, ‘a plan or scheme intended to outwit an opponent’. If you simply follow the herd you will end up where every one else ends up; but if you are one step ahead of the game you can gain a signifi cant competitive business advantage over other practices.
