Aeration Systems Design

In aeration, drying grain with ambient air is excluded because the airflow rates needed for natural air drying are in the order of 10 to 50 times higher than those needed for cooling. At aeration airflow rates, the moisture content during one cooling cycle is usually reduced by less than one percentage point, with cooling times typically ranging from 100 to 300 hours (h).
