ABSTRACT
Bacteria, fungi, viruses, and other parasites are the causative agents of microbial disease. However, in evaluating topical antimicrobial products such as surgical scrubs, pre-operative prepping solutions, and health care personnel handwashes, bacteria are the indices used in estimating antimicrobial effectiveness.
