ABSTRACT

It is important to have clearly in mind the purpose of an evaluation. Just what is it one is attempting to evaluate? For example, if a specific therapy is claimed to alleviate an allergy, it is important to define precisely what is meant by allergy. Does the therapy treat allergic symptomatology, the immune response effects of B-cell immunocytes secreting immunoglobulin ΑE, or both? Does it mean therapy in terms of clinical reduction of IgE in the bloodstream, and therefore focus on histamine reduction? Does it mean subjective relief from allergies for a patient? Perhaps both? Whatever it is, it is critical that one articulate this precisely.
