ABSTRACT
This revised microbiological book addresses four areas of focus needed to produce a quality surgical handwash, a preoperative skin preparation, or a healthcare personnel handwash that meets regulatory criteria for performance, is saleable, and can withstand competition. Because personnel often have been trained in only one of the four areas (Figure 1.1), the other areas are ignored, and a product may fail. This is why we will concentrate on these areas equally.
