ABSTRACT

The only exceptions to the surveys of the literature are topics on reliabilitycentered maintenance. Chapter  7 covers reliability-centered maintenance. Reliability-centered maintenance is performed by the system end user, not the designer. The reliability analysis approach for reliability-centered maintenance differs significantly from the reliability analysis approach presented in the previous chapter for system design. The key reasons are as follows:

• The end user has no influence on the design analysis for the system: (1) the system design is locked in once the end user acquires it, and (2) the system design configuration is known.
