ABSTRACT
Diagrams of metastable equilibrium describe equilibria between phases, which are achievable under given thermodynamic conditions. To disturb a system in the metastable state from an equilibrium condition, it is necessary to change one ofthe controlling parameters: concentration, temperature, or time.
