ABSTRACT
The unit operation for the separation of particulate material depending on its characteristics, such as particle diameter, density, shape, and so forth, is called “classifi cation.” However, this term is commonly used to express the size classifi cation that is the separation of particles depending on their diameter. In this section, the basis of size classifi cation is described.
