ABSTRACT

Conventional approaches for the analysis of response data from slug tests are based on variants of the mathematical model defined in Equations (5.1a) to (5.If). That model, however, may not be an appropriate representation of the governing physics for slug tests performed in high-conductivity formations. Thus, conventional analysis approaches may introduce error into parameter estimates when applied in this hydro geologic setting. In order to reduce the potential for such error, specialized techniques have been developed for the analysis of response data from tests performed in highconductivity formations. The most common of these techniques are described in this chapter.
