ABSTRACT
Health care Prior to whelping, the bitch should be eating a quality commercially manufactured performance, puppy, or pregnancy diet. Approximately 1 week prior to the delivery, she should be radiographed to assess the number of pups due. Most bitches whelp at home without veterinary intervention.
