ABSTRACT
Pain is one of the most frequent presenting complaints among patients with vertebral pathology leading to medical consultation. It may be felt and described in many diverse ways, varying from patient to patient. It is the major symptom in those conditions where the prognosis is rarely in question and where the functional prognosis is only rarely so.
