ABSTRACT

Hydrotherapy has been used a great deal in many countries. In France, it was very popular and fashionable during the last century, but later it was mostly used in thermal spas. Although physicians and patients who used it were very enthusiastic about it, its efficacy and utility were always questioned by the medical profession. The use of these modalities was reawakened by the development of physical therapy, and the vogue of thalassotherapy helped to better elucidate its potential.
