ABSTRACT

Pain distribution and the clinical signs found on examination correspond to the branches of the T12 and L1 spinal nerve roots (Fig. 60.1b). Their posterior rami innervate the superior gluteal and inferior lumbar subcutaneous tissues. Their anterior ramus innervates the inferior part of the abdomen and the groin region. A perforating lateral cutaneous branch arising from the anterior ramus innervates the trochanteric region.
