ABSTRACT

With the patient lying supine, the examiner’s forearms are crossed behind the patient’s neck, with the hands on the patient’s shoulders to block them. With light alternating flexion and extension movements of the wrist, the examiner acts as a lever to bring the neck into flexion and release it. The maneuver is powerful and must be per-

formed slowly with great caution. It must, of course, be repeated several times (Fig. 65.8).
