ABSTRACT

This chapter is unlike most others in that the caulking work is not being allocated to the caulking and sealants subcontractor nearly to the degree in which it is being allocated to other subcontractors. This is typical of caulking and sealants work. As a result, even on large projects, there is often no separate subcontract issued directly by the general contractor for caulking work. Only when there is difficulty in allocating certain elements of the caulking and sealants work is the assignment of work to a separate caulking subcontractor the most viable option to take.
