ABSTRACT
A consideration of open channel hydraulics is an integral part of projects in which artificial channels and improvements to or analysis of natural channels are a primary concern. The design of channels in urban environments is complicated by a number of factors including changing hydrology due to watershed land use changes, near bank encroachments, numerous channel crossings and modifications, intermittent upstream construction with sediment surges, and difficult or unknown environmental considerations.
