ABSTRACT
The variations due to analytical variables in hematological measurements usually are much less than variations due to preanalytical factors, i.e., the biological components and the sample collection procedures discussed in the previous chapter. In earlier chapters, the differences between blood cell numbers, shapes, and sizes for laboratory animals have been mentioned, and not all of the analytical equipment and reagents used in human medicine are appropriate for use with animal species.
