Answer: (c) Although end-tidal CO 2 may not accurately reflect arterial CO 2 tension, its use is helpful to plan appropriate ventilation strategies. On the other hand, in infants and children with respiratory pathology, capillary or arterial blood gas analysis might be indicated to accurately measure CO 2 tension.
