ABSTRACT
Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations and maintained in the present for the benet of current and future generations. An important societal challenge is to both preserve and make cultural heritage artifacts accessible to the general public in both short-and long-term time frames. One recent technology that is being used to help preserve cultural heritage is augmented reality (henceforth AR).
