ABSTRACT

Currently, a range of nanoparticles are being investigated for their application to life sciences, including gold nanoparticles and quantum dots. But, this chapter will primarily discuss only nanotubes. e de nition of a nanotube is not xed, although most researchers generally accept that nanotubes have a diameter from 1 to 100 nm and can be anything from 100 nm to a few microns in length (Martin and Kohli, 2003; Kohli and Martin, 2005).
