Biofunctionalized TiO2-Based Nanocomposites
Biology has evolved elegant pathways, molecular structures, and complex machinery at the nanoscale to power sophisticated cell functioning. However, control of molecular processes requires extensive knowledge about the physical and chemical properties of molecules and assemblies that constitute cell machinery. Control and manipulation of biomolecules and supramolecular entities within the living cells are major challenges in understanding the complex functioning of cells. Nanotechnology, on the other hand, has the ability to shape matter on the molecular level and coax the atoms into new combinations resulting in hybrid structures with properties that expend beyond individual entities.
