ABSTRACT
This chapter describes incandescent light sources, which were the rst-and even today are perhaps the most important-lightproducing technology in the market based on electricity.
For more than a century, incandescent lamps have been the mainstay of articial lighting. Today, although discussions are under way related to the banning of this technology due to economic, energy, and environmental reasons, most of these lamps still play an important role.
