INTRODUCTION11.1 Raw* experimental data seldom give the answer to the problem that is the objective of the measurement. In most cases, additional calculations or analysis of the raw data is necessary. The analysis of the raw data may consist of a simple division of the counts recorded in a scaler by the counting time to obtain counting rates, may require tting an analytical function to the data, or may necessitate unfolding of a measured spectrum.
