ABSTRACT
Tissue engineering is a subfield of bioengineering that seeks to apply the principles of engineering and life sciences toward the development of biological substitutes that restore, maintain, or improve tissue function or a whole organ. e subdiscipline of tissue microengineering has the same goals as tissue engineering but uses microfabrication approaches and tools to achieve those goals.
