ABSTRACT
The incidence of spinal cord injury ranges from 27 to 47 cases per million population per year. Road traffic accidents remain the leading cause of spinal cord injuries worldwide. Pre-hospital survival and life expectancy of spinal cord injury victims have improved significantly.
