ABSTRACT

PBT is known to be a thermoplastic material. In industry, PBT is mostly used as a filled material, which may be processed by means of injection and extrusion molding. PBT has a low coefficient of contact friction with steel and plastic materials, low moisture permeability and other essential properties. Moreover, PBT-based materials are capable of retaining their performance characteristics at 20-130 ac over a long period. Uncompounded PBT is molded at temperature of the mold of (30-40 °C) that enables to perform high-speed molding. The size precision of articles is provided at low compression load. PBT may replace some heat-convertible resins and even metals due to a combination of its essential properties such as heat stability, arc and chemical resistance and dimensional stability.
