ABSTRACT

Hydrogen is accepted as the clean and new energy source of the future. The truth about the detrimental effects of greenhouse gases has directed the world to decarbonize the fossil fuels, and the technological developments in electricity generation are toward electrochemical energy conversion with fuel cells. The trend in fuel use is toward hydrogen. Hydrogen has a flexible energy carrier function as a remedy for the discontinuity in renewable resources such as sun and wind. It is also advantageous when hydroenergy is converted to hydrogen and transported very long distances.
