In which the Author gives an account of the events of his journey from Ferra to the City of Spahan

[449/1] During the last days of the fifty-six we spent in the city of Ferra a messenger came from Spahan, or as we pronounce it Haspan, with the welcome news of the peaceful acclamation of the new King, a boy of fourteen years, ¹ the legitimate son of the late king and a direct descendant of Aly, son-in-law of their false prophet Maomet. ²
