How the Author reached the Island of Cyprus, and of what more took place before he reached Christian land and ended his voyage

[466/1] On reaching the Cyprian isle ¹ we entered the port of Salinas. ² Here we at once landed, and I luckily met Captain Carlos Fogassa, [466/3] whom I told about my journey and how I had come to look for him. He at once offered me a passage on his vessel, with such show of goodwill as, added to the treatment I received later on, made his kind deeds and noble behaviour far excel what good report had attributed to him.
