ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter, we explained the differences between rehabilitation and recovery and described the seven phases of the strength-based cognitive behaviour therapy (SBCBT) model in the mental health recovery process. In this chapter, we will illustrate how SBCBT is applied in each phase using two case illustrations. We will demonstrate how SBCBT strategies can be applied flexibly in the different phases — from motivating the client to change, formulating personal goals, taking actions, and achieving the goals.
