ABSTRACT

Phase VII is the final phase of the strength-based cognitive behaviour therapy (SBCBT) model on mental health recovery. It focuses on the issues and importance of conducting continuous review to examine the progress of the client at various stages of the recovery process. In practice, reviewing the client's progress is carried out across all phases in recovery and in Phase VII, a comprehensive review will be conducted. The purpose of the continuous review is to revisit the client's journey in recovery; acknowledge the progress/efforts made; and reaffirm the self-discovery, positive experiences, and the goals achieved by the client. It is a process of self-affirmation and self-reinforcement, providing positive energy for the client to carry on. In this chapter, the case of Ann will be used to illustrate the application of the Old Me/New Me and the Piggy Bank techniques in engaging the client in continuous review and feedback.
