ABSTRACT
What were the economic factors behind the rising existential crisis of the European Union (EU)? The main factor was the migration crisis and its connection with Europe’s demographic crisis. The Muslim terror attacks also had a major contribution. Emerging populist attacks against the EU.
The outside factor of the existential crisis was the failure of neighborhood policy and the hostile neighbors of the EU. The EU very slowly but in the end successfully handled the crisis. Is it over, are or new ones coming?
