ABSTRACT
Americans are bound together by belief in basic values stated in the founding document the US constitution. These values, that all people are entitled to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, are the guiding principles that shape life and business. To engage successfully in the US business environment, it’s important to understand that Americans in business are focused on transactions rather than relationship building. They have a strong belief that through hard work and risk-taking, anyone can be successful. There’s no disgrace in trying and failing. Just try again. Americans are known to be somewhat insular but still welcoming, ethical, competitive and young at heart.
