The practitioner is increasingly faced with the need to assess the interaction with HRT and/or the safety and efficacy of disease-specific drugs or alternative therapies that have been prescribed for a given medical condition. Listed below are commonly prescribed drugs, with a brief summary of their pharmacological action-where known. Relevant available drugs are listed in national formularies. The websites of some example formularies are listed in the Appendix.
