ABSTRACT
Approximately 10% of all trauma cases involve the genitourinary tract. This is usually blunt trauma and is self-limiting. It has been estimated that 60-90% of all renal injuries occur as a result of blunt trauma but 5-10% of blunt and up to 70% of penetrating trauma are major injuries.
