ABSTRACT
Clinical presentation There is a clinical spectrum which may range from cystitis with some mild flank pain to Gram-negative septicaemia. Classical description is of sudden onset of fever associated with loin pain and tenderness. Approximately 75% of patients give a history of lower urinary tract infection. Associated nausea and vomiting are frequently present.
