ABSTRACT
This condition is rare compared with TCC of the bladder (<5%) but has shared aetiological and clinical features. Recurrence is common (40%+) and virtually always distal to the original tumour. Contralateral synchronous or metachronous tumours occur in <3% of patients. Males outnumber females by 3:1 and the condition generally presents in the seventh decade of life.
