plotting cumulative frequencies. The cumulative frequency for a value is the number of observations in the sample with values less than or equal to that value. The relative cumulative frequency for a value is the proportion of observations in the sample with values less than or equal to that value. Hence the cumulative frequencies and relative cumulative frequencies for the MAP data are shown in Table 5, the cumulative frequency histogram is shown in Figure 6 and cumulative relative frequency polygon is shown in Figure 7. The plots provide an easy and quick way to estimate the median and other quantiles from the distribution.
