2. Odds. To describe the data for each method of delivery, the percentage (the probability times one hundred) and the odds are given. The observed percentage with faecal incontinence is approximately 10% and is highest for assisted vaginal delivery. The odds of faecal incontinence being present versus being absent are 690/(7,152−690)=0.11, approximately one to nine and, again, is highest for assisted vaginal delivery.
