ABSTRACT
Ankle injuries commonly present to the A&E department estimated at a rate of 1 per 10000 people per day. The dominant ankle is more likely to be involved. Ankle injuries can cause significant morbidity. These include functional instability, mechanical instability, chronic pain, stiffness and recurrent swelling.
