ABSTRACT
Peripheral nerves unlike nerves of the central nervous system have the ability to regenerate themselves after injury. The success of this regeneration in terms of functional outcome is determined by the timing of repair and the accuracy of opposition of the cut ends. It is therefore essential that nerve lesions are detected early and referred for expert management.
