ABSTRACT

A 54-year-old patient with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, in remission after radiotherapy, developed left arm edema secondary to subclavian vein thrombosis. His totally occluded subclavian artery was treated 6 weeks ago with local thrombolysis and balloon angioplasty, with an excellent result. He was also started on wafarin therapy to prevent re-thrombosis. Despite adequate anticoagulation, he now returns with recurrent left arm swelling over the past 2 days.
