ABSTRACT

The k-out-of-n systems are of frequent use in engineering. They are redundant systems with wide applications in industrial and military systems. The literature related to these systems is exhaustive. In Kuo & Zuo (2003) the reliability evaluation and optimal design for these systems are studied; different algorithmic techniques for evaluating the reliability are introduced, and several topics related to the design of the system in order to improve the reliability are considered. References in this book include many papers about the k-out-of-n systems.
