ABSTRACT
In the last decades, transport systems reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) have been assuming an always increasing significance. Nowadays, for these systems, RAM characteristics are considered as important as functioning characteristics such as speed, tractive capability and load capacity. RAM indexes are routinely utilized in all the phases of the life cycle of the vehicles, and almost all invitations to tender for transport systems define RAM requirements in details.
