ABSTRACT

According to Montiel (1996), Natural Gas is, today, one of the most used sources of energy, and its rate of use is greatly increasing, such that, in the last thirty or so years, world consumption of gas has doubled. The reasons for this large increase in using Natural Gas are the perfect match between its features and recent concerns about the impact on the environment of other fuels that have been used in a much larger proportion all over the world. Society has been demanding that governments and enterprises use less harmful sources of energy. Apart from its being ranked low as a pollutant, a great advantage of natural gas is the ease with which it can be distributed at low pressures, which makes it ideal for generating electricity and as a domestic fuel.
