ABSTRACT

Several researchers in last decades have identified and studied a wide range of hazards (physical, chemical, biological, psycho-social and physiological) in the workplace which may lead to accidents (Hollmann et al. 2001; Levi 1984; Plog et al. 1996; Saari 1990). Accidents often result in occupational injuries which can harm the reputation of a company, decrease productivity, and result in large costs (Sheu 2000). Injured employees may suffer not only pain and discomfort, but also more serious problems – either a temporary or permanent disability, or even death.
